Very true. There’s something about old cats. Once I house-sat for a friend who had an ancient grey cat. His kidneys were getting old (or something), so he had to have saline solution injected into his body. I was asked to hold him while a big needle was stuck in, but the needle kept missing. He didn’t move once. Didn’t even flinch. I didn’t need to hold him at all. Skinny, bones, slow. He had that old rattling purr. I have never met a more content friendly accepting cat.

He is 18 years old and was an outdoor cat most of his life, and it shows. He is blind in his left eye, he’s so skinny his bones stick out, his fur is faded and matted, and his purr sounds broken, but he is happy, and the most beautiful thing in the world.
I love this cat like nothing else in the world.
