Twitter Has Solved The Earthquake Problem

Problem: We don’t know when an earthquake is imminent.

Solution: There’s got to be at least a few dozen people in any earthquake prone city who just tweet about what their cats are up to.  And since we all know that cats act really strange before an earthquake, all we really need is a feed of cat owner tweets.

Cross reference with dog, horse, or other quake sensitive animals, and you just made years of geologists with millions of dollars of grant money seem pretty ridiculous.
